Summer is fleeting and as much as we hate to admit it…on it’s way out. Use this list to get the most out of this glorious season before it’s gone!
1. Roadtrip
It doesn’t have to be a long cross-country affair. Just grab some friends, a good playlist, some snacks for the road, and get out there!
2. Cabin Weekend
Gather up your friends for a weekend out at the cabin! Not sure where to find a shack for your end of summer adventure? Check out any state or national parks near you!
3. Hoop Sesh with Friends
Whether you’re all novices or old pros, there’s nothing more laid-back and fun than heading to your nearest park, throwing on your fave tunes, and hooping to the music in the sunshine.
4. Outdoor Concert
You don’t have to attend a full-fledged music festival to enjoy some music outside! Check out your community listings for any outdoor concerts right in your hometown! You never know what kinds of new music you’ll encounter!
5. Plant Some Flowers
Unlike annuals, which die every season, perennials bloom again and again, so it’s okay to plant them this late in the season! Take some time to attract bees with bee gardening (plus here’s a handy list of some perennials that pollinators love)!Blog Image
6. Take a walk in nature
Whether you live in the heart of the city, out in the ‘burbs, or your nearest neighbor is 5 miles away, finding some time to just walk in nature is good for the soul and especially important if you live somewhere that is cold with limited daylight during the winter! Find a community garden, a large park, or even your own backyard and take it all in!
7. Outside Yoga
Roll out your mat, chant some “oms” and practice asana. There’s no better way to feel a connection with the Earth and with yourself.
8. Get Inspired by Nature
Grab your sketch pad, some paint, or write a poem about the things you see around you. There’s no inspiration quite as beautiful as a sunset, trees changing color, or the sounds of birds chirping.
9. Throw an End-of-Summer Backyard Party
Fire up the BBQ and put out the yard games! Create a night full of memories that will keep you reminiscing all Winter long!
10. Earthing
Firmly root down into the Earth with your bare feet and feel its heartbeat. That’s the general idea of Earthing, a practice that creates a strong bond with this planet and makes you closer to nature in general.
