Do you need a little encouragement, confidence or guidance in your life? Does a certain animal resonate with you? Or do you find that an animal has been prominent in your mind as of late? You may need the guidance of a spirit animal! Understanding spirit animals and the symbolism of different animals can help you find an animal to guide and protect you – you can choose any animal that speaks to you. So how do you find your spirit animal?
Bees are nature’s reminder that it’s possible to be yourself while also doing good for the world. Bees work hard gathering pollen for themselves and their hives, and at the same time pollinating plants in their environment. Bees work in harmony with nature. They’re a shining example of sustainable living.
The word “peacock” actually refers to the male of the species, while “peahen” is what the females are called. But both sexes display their plumage, and all peafowl can symbolize beauty, confidence, and protection with their feathers’ iridescent “eyes”.
Owls can be found in nearly all parts of the world, living mostly nocturnally and blending in with their surroundings. The symbolism of owls varies widely across cultures and beliefs, but all stem from the owl’s mysterious and hidden nature. Darkness can be good or bad – it all depends on how you look at it!
“Turtle” can refer to a sea turtle or a terrestrial turtle, more accurately known as a tortoise. Tortoises have taller shells and sturdy feet for walking, whereas sea turtles have leaner shells and flipper-like limbs to help them swim. Whichever variety calls to you, all turtles can represent positive qualities that we as humans strive to embody.
The elephant is truly a peaceful warrior: herbivorous and family-oriented, yet strong and protective of their kin. Their recognizable appearance and gentle demeanor makes the elephant a beautiful symbol to adopt in your life.
This year’s September full moon is the traditional Harvest Moon, being the closest full moon to the Autumn Equinox (September 22). But in our monthly moon series, we’ve borrowed the names from the Celtic Tree calendar, so we’re calling it by another name – the Vine Moon!
Because the moon is lower in the sky during the fall season, it can appear orange or red in color. The moon’s proximity to the horizon also makes it appear larger – a total optical illusion, but awesome nonetheless.
This recent photoshoot brought us to Schmidt Artist Lofts in St Paul where we chilled with Abby and Jordan. This cute couple shows off our latest unisex line for fall – some classic cuts in neutral colors with simple graphics. These pieces work great for guys and girls! The four cuts featured in this line all contain organic cotton and all are made in the USA. Check out Our Slouchy Beanies, Our Organic Super Soft Hoodies, Our Waffleweave Thermals and Our Organic Unisex Tees. These new comfy and cozy cuts show that clothes don’t need a gender – you can simply just wear what you love! Take a look at our unisex clothing line below – thanks again to Abby and Jordan for sharing their loft and vibe with us!
A recent beautiful summer day in Minneapolis brought us to Minnehaha Falls for a Soul Flower Yoga Photoshoot. Sunshine, yogi vibes, and a little shenanigans made for a great time. A huge thanks to the forever awesome Goldie Harmon (@goldie_yogi), her acro yoga partner Jillian (@amaizaea), and Jillian’s little mini-me for lending us their smiles and acro-yoga moves. Take a look at these fun behind the scenes photos:
The August full moon goes by many names: Sturgeon Moon, Corn Moon, Wort Moon, Grain Moon, and Hazel Moon. The different names for full moons come from different cultures, histories, philosophies, and places. In our monthly moon series, we’ve borrowed the names from the Celtic Tree calendar.
This month’s Hazel Moon (named after the Celtic Tree of Wisdom) aligns perfectly with back-to-school season!

We’re almost half-way between Summer Solstice (June 21) and Autumn Equinox (September 22). This time of year traditionally marks the beginning of harvest, both literally and metaphorically.
July’s full moon is also a total lunar eclipse! It will be the longest lunar eclipse of the 21st century, coming in just shy of the theoretical limit. Unfortunately it won’t be visible in North America, but pretty much every other place in the world will get to see it!
This month’s full moon is also known as Thunder Moon, since thunderstorms are so frequent during July. Fun fact: some of the stormiest areas in the US can see thunderstorms every single day in July! Top of the list is southern Florida, a few places in New Mexico, and a small region in southeast Arizona. Enjoy Mother Nature’s light show, but stay safe! (more…)

You may have heard of chakras in yoga or come across them in Eastern religions or new-age practices like crystal healing. But what are chakras? We have put together some definitions and a chakra chart to help you out!
What is a chakra?
Chakras are areas of energy in the body that run from the base of your spine to the top of your head. There are seven basic chakras, each with a corresponding color and symbols. The Sanskrit word chakra (pronounced “CHOCK-rah”) means wheel, which refers to the spinning energy in each of the seven chakras.
Riding on the energy of the Summer Solstice (June 21), the sunshine accompanying this June 28 full moon is the longest of the year. That means a long day of beautiful summer sunshine plus a short night of bright full moon. Get out there and enjoy the season! (more…)
Hey Buds, you know we are always looking for ways to be more eco-friendly and we are excited to say – we found a new one this season: our latest wholesale catalog (released to boutiques and shops that carry Soul Flower) is now being printed on 100% recycled papers! Our new paper is 100% post consumer recycled and approved by the FSC (Forest Steward Council). We have worked with our current printer for a few years now and have always been very impressed with their eco friendly practices throughout their facility. We are especially proud to be their first catalog printing on 100% post consumer recycled paper using eco-friendly soy-based inks.
